President, Ultimate Data Division

Mike is a catalyst for change who infuses the organization with a customer and market centric mindset. He is responsible for leading Wiland’s Ultimate Data Division.  This includes the sale of non-cooperative database products across all markets, the development of co-created marketing audiences via audience partners, the overall management of the Automotive, Financial Services, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries, and the development of digital newsletters and the direct-to-consumer data aggregation businesses.

Mike has over 20 years of experience in the information industry.  He held general management and sales roles on the leadership teams at R.L. Polk & Co. as well as IHS Automotive. He led global product management organizations and North American sales and marketing teams, as well as leading corporate restructuring efforts in the U.S. and Europe. Mike was inducted as a Young Leader into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2006 and remains active in the automotive industry. In addition to his focus on the company’s data products and partnerships, Mike brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, operations management, brand management, and leadership development.

Mike is proud to come from a family of small business owners and entrepreneurs. His great-grandparents founded the town of Gingellville in 1837 after receiving a land grant from President Andrew Jackson and successfully ran the hardware store, grocery store, and gas station for multiple generations. Mike received his undergraduate degree from Oakland University and his MBA from Wayne State University. When he is not working, Mike enjoys participating in his kids’ sporting events and local politics. He is currently serving his fifth term as an Oakland County Commissioner and is the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.

Chris DeMartine

SVP, Ultimate Audiences

Chris leads the Ultimate Audiences business development team, helping agencies and brands find the right custom and on-demand audiences for their advertising programs. Chris’s career began in 1991 with IBM, followed by Canon where he managed a dealer network and landed several new major accounts for the Government Marketing Division. After five years he accepted a position at American List Counsel, where he spent a decade building data marts, creating hundreds of business intelligence reporting solutions, and automating processes that fueled the company’s growth. From there he served at NextMark for seven years, tripling the business in size through a balanced effort of acquisition and organic growth.

Other roles at V12 Group and Statlistics provided Chris the opportunity to work directly with top B2B and B2C clients, many of which resulted from his new business development efforts. He served as President of the Vermont/New Hampshire Marketing Group, contributes to leading trade publications, and speaks at industry events and universities.

With a penchant for problem-solving, Brian brings his experience leading Wiland’s political team to his new role as Vice President of Ultimate Media. With a background in politics, Brian has worked on campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, and as a staffer for the U.S. Congress. Since joining Wiland, Brian has helped establish it as the premier political cooperative database in America. Brian looks to bring that same level of success to Ultimate Media, where he will be focused on creating high-value products and services for Wiland’s Ultimate Data Division.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys reading, hiking, playing chess, cooking, and traveling.

Robert Reger

SVP, Solutions and Insights

Rob brings 28 years of direct marketing experience to Wiland’s Ultimate Data Division team in his role as Senior Vice President, Solutions and Insights. Having specialized during the last 10 years in leading account management and business development teams, Rob has extensive experience serving clients across industries, working with them to leverage data to build stronger relationships with prospects and customers and increase their marketing precision and performance.

Prior to joining Wiland, Rob held leadership positions in both data-centric and creative roles at companies including Epsilon, Datamark, Inc., Amrion, Inc., American Family Publishers, Rodale Publishing, and Prentice-Hall/Simon and Schuster. An active member of the direct marketing governance community, Rob has been part of the Data & Marketing Association (DMA) Ethics Operating Committee since 2009, having served as Chair in 2015 and 2016. Rob is also a five-time DMA Echo Award Judge and has served on the Board of Trustees for DMA’s Marketing Edge Organization.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys skiing, fitness, yoga, and adventure motorcycling. He enjoys spending time with his family and being out on his bike whenever possible, including while doing charity fundraising work as a brand ambassador for the nonprofit organization Backcountry Discovery Routes.

Having held positions with Cheryl’s Dream Dinners, NatCity Investments, Bank One, and WealthEngine, Val brings a unique understanding of a breadth of potential business growth challenges to Wiland clients, providing them with creative solutions that achieve exceptional results.

In her spare time, Val enjoys skiing and traveling with family. She can also often be found cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

As Vice President of New Business Development in Wiland’s Ultimate Data Division, Cori works with home services and entertainment companies to help them find the right solutions and customers that will lead to them exceeding their marketing goals. With a vast consumer services background, Cori has worked in sales for over 20 years, most recently for over 10 years at SK&A. Cori loves building new relationships, and she’s proud to say that many of her past clients are now her friends.

Originally from Michigan, Cori moved to California with her family in the early eighties and never looked back. With a degree in psychology from Cal State Fullerton, Cori has a genuine interest in people, helping others, and making the world a better place, which translates perfectly into the client-first, integrity-driven culture at Wiland.

In her free time, Cori thoroughly enjoys the Southern California lifestyle, where she can both go to the beach and hit the slopes on her snowboard in the same day. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Geoff, and their yellow lab, Harley, watching football, attending spin class, volunteering, and catching up with her parents and three younger siblings, all of whom live nearby.

Mark was introduced to the world of publishing in a tough but terrific way: taking phone calls from disgruntled subscribers. To hear him tell it, that was a great training ground for learning about people and publishing. He then managed the call center before moving up to client account management. When he moved to Experian, he learned about the analytical and cooperative database environment, along with helping clients better manage their audience development strategies. Now that he’s found his dream job at Wiland, he’s never looked back.

In his so-called off hours (after work, travel, raising five kids, plus biking and hiking with them) Mark is an accomplished musician, playing clubs, weddings and parties in one of his two professional bands. It’s here that his love of interacting with and getting to know people finds creative expression. Not a traditional sales type, Mark has a desire to truly get to know and help each person he meets. This natural characteristic comes through and translates into success, which plays just the right chord and strikes just the right note—real music to Mark’s ears.

Dave Hill

Dave is a self-proclaimed man of numbers, not of words. With a double major in finance and economics, he lets the numbers do the talking…and they say quite a lot about Dave and the know-how he brings to direct marketing in both digital and offline environments. Here at Wiland, he oversees the team responsible for the delivery of solutions and services to several hundred clients.

Dave’s nearly 30 years of direct marketing experience began at Fingerhut, where he held multiple positions in the marketing department. He then moved on to catalog marketer Michigan Bulb, which was part of Foster & Gallagher. There he led the new customer acquisition marketing and circulations functions for more than four years, overseeing direct-response advertising decisions and vendor relationships. Before coming to Wiland, he held a variety of positions with Epsilon Targeting. On the side, he’s had training in effective negotiation, management and coaching for success.

Client Services Director

April began her direct marketing career with the legendary National Demographics & Lifestyles (NDL) in 1993 before moving on to Arvato, part of Bertelsmann, which often took her to Germany (including during the World Cup in 2006).

April came to Wiland in 2007, where she advanced to outside sales. In 2012, when cancer struck, April’s family and Wiland colleagues lovingly helped her through the tough times. Today, as a survivor, she says, “Wiland is like a family to me. I have a completely different perspective on life these days and always look at the positive in everything I do.”

When not at work or checkups, the avid motorcyclist (who started riding long before it was cool for chicks to ride) hits the road year-round in the mountains, plains, and everywhere in between. She loves hanging out with her beloved dog, Lucky, noting that rescue is a two-way street.
