Todd brings 30-plus years of direct and online marketing experience to Wiland. Back in the direct marketing stone age, when “dot whacks” and “mail tapes” were actually part of the English language and catalogs were the marketing channel of choice, Todd was sending out hundreds of millions of them. But with the digital marketing era on the horizon, he joined the revolution and has spent the past decade in digital advertising, specializing in the behavioral and personalization aspects of the field.

Ask him about his latest adventure leading digital sales at Wiland, and he’ll tell you that the next chapter in online marketing history is not about simple behavior, but audience engagement based on holistic, cross-channel insight. What Todd likes best about the products he delivers is how Wiland collects and analyzes campaign results. When not having fun at work, Todd enjoys spending time with his family, renovating their 1891 Victorian house in Old Town Longmont, or fly fishing in exotic tropical locations with his son.

From appearing on Jay Leno’s show to appearing every day at Wiland, Kristen’s has been quite a journey. This Chicago native found her way back home after studying at the University of WisconsinMadison as a marketing and accounting major and being a member of the UW Dance Team, performing at many football and basketball games, the 2000 Rose Bowl Parade and Game and, yes, that appearance on Leno.

Before working at Wiland, she tried her hand at accounting, but it wasn’t for her. She then tried sales and event planning for Hilton Hotels and voila!, a match. Concurrently, she danced in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls as a Chicago Luvabull. In 2008, Kristen found her way to Wiland, where she’s a natural at business development, working with a great team, traveling the country, meeting new people, and working prospective clients.

When not working, Kristen teaches Piloxing, a non-stop interval fusion class of standing Pilates, boxing, and dance. She also loves watching her boys play sports, as well as traveling with her husband, family, and friends.

Traci Page is the VP of New Business Development – Consumer Merchandise at Wiland, Inc. Traci brings with her all the qualities that allow her to be successful in developing strong successful relationships and finding marketing solutions for her clients. She joins Wiland after a career in the healthcare industry for the past 20 years, as a Medicare Sales Representative and Sales Manager in Southern California.

Traci is a California native with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University at Fullerton. Her career of service began in college and has allowed her to help people, and to build on relationships that still exist today. She is professional, ethical, organized, and hard-working. Her expertise in sales includes the belief that her client’s needs are the priority, and that listening to those needs are the key to successful outcomes.

She is a devoted wife of 30 years and mother of three. Traci’s main priority is to be supportive of her family, and to guide her children toward being kind-spirited, educated and productive citizens. Her strong sense of commitment is not only to the workplace and clients, but to her family. Traci loves traveling from city to city to watch her children play College sports, “Go Ducks!” She is known as the “Sunny Delight” mom, their biggest fan and cheerleader! Zach started his career by blowing things up (with a license). A Degree in Mining Engineering sent Zach on a whirlwind trip around the world’s underground hardrock mining scene with stops in Nevada and Australia before landing in a technical sales role. After a few short years providing solutions for mining companies, he realized a penchant for business development and a love for solving enterprise-scale problems.

Database analytics and predictive modeling play a major role in both his past and present. There may be some differences between the processes of mining through marketing data and mining through rock, but the end goal of each is to find the right targets and turn them into gold.

When he isn’t at work, he probably has a fly rod in hand. If not, he is cooking, eating, and generally enjoying his way through this adventure.

Luanne began her career as a housefile circulation analyst for Fingerhut Corporation in Minnesota. She then moved to the Tupperware Corporation, where she helped launch the company’s direct-to-consumer business. Luanne continued her direct marketing career as a Product Specialist at Cendant where she worked with affinity marketers to utilize their files for direct mail and telemarketing programs. From 1998 through 2004, she was a National Account Manager with Abacus, managing some of the organization’s largest multi-title clients.

Luanne enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog Lucy. She also enjoys traveling, gardening and accompanying her husband on fly fishing trips, a good book firmly in hand.

Her tremendous energy goes into her family, her grandchildren, her hobbies, and her work, where her roster of clients reads like a Who’s Who of the publishing industry. That love of publishing complements her love of service as Jan deciphers her clients’ challenges, then creates effective plans to help them reach their goals.

Jan earned her B.A. in business administration and, recently, her M.S. in organizational leadership, both from Colorado State University. She plans to teach college-level business classes online. Dave is a self-proclaimed man of numbers, not of words. With a double major in finance and economics, he lets the numbers do the talking…and they say quite a lot about Dave and the know-how he brings to direct marketing in both digital and offline environments. Here at Wiland, he oversees the team responsible for the delivery of solutions and services to several hundred clients.

Dave’s nearly 30 years of direct marketing experience began at Fingerhut, where he held multiple positions in the marketing department. He then moved on to catalog marketer Michigan Bulb, which was part of Foster & Gallagher. There he led the new customer acquisition marketing and circulations functions for more than four years, overseeing direct-response advertising decisions and vendor relationships. Before coming to Wiland, he held a variety of positions with Epsilon Targeting. On the side, he’s had training in effective negotiation, management and coaching for success.

You can tell Sandy Mickelson is a leader the minute you meet her. She’s brimming with energy, ideas and insight, plus a great laugh. Her large, loving family calls her “the fun aunt” for the adventurous “Camp Colorado” gatherings she creates for 14 kids. Sandy is from Minnesota and was raised with a true Midwestern work ethic. She has worked for Fingerhut, QVC, Carlson Marketing, Neodata, Concepts Direct, and others in her 30-year career. Sandy has held key management positions working with hundreds of direct marketing companies as both client and vendor, and she is one of Wiland’s co-founders.

The eldest of seven and a born problem solver, her passion is brainstorming with clients, then figuring out ways to find them new customers. That same can-do spirit drives her as a volunteer helping homeless people become independent and working to meet other community needs through her church. Whether with clients or family, priorities, passion, and productivity prevail, along with a good measure of fun and adventure, as Sandy goes the extra mile to make everyone happy.

When you meet Patrick Flaherty, it’s not hard to see that he’s a born Irish storyteller. Patrick loves stories and shows it by taking his wife and three girls to Disney parks whenever possible. What’s more, he aims to elicit one as he makes clients feel he’s an extension of their own staff.

His several decades in direct marketing, another decade in a family business and many years as administrator for a large church add up to a lifetime of experience making his customers smile. Patrick’s love of stories and smiles spills over into all aspects of his life, from volunteering with youth groups to helping nonprofit charities find the support they need to thrive. Julie, a Colorado native, brings a decade of industry experience to Wiland. After earning a bachelor of science in business administration with a marketing focus from the University of Northern Colorado, she joined Z-24, now an Experian company, as an account coordinator. Julie was soon promoted to an account management role, where she remained for nearly 10 years.

Julie knows a thing or two about working hard and juggling a number of different tasks: She and husband Troy have four children. Julie left Experian to focus on raising her children for several years before joining Wiland in 2015. Family comes first for Julie—a sentiment shared by CEO Phil Wiland—and she spends most of her free time with her husband and kids. The family enjoys bike rides and trips to the movies, and Julie can often be found cheering on her children at the pool, baseball field, basketball court, or soccer field. “We love competitive sports and won’t miss a game!” she says. Raised an Air Force brat, Deb was born in Germany and lived all over the world with her family of five, which makes her a people person, comfortable wherever she goes. After earning a B.S. in marketing from Illinois State University, Deb was lured by the great weather and breathtaking beauty of the West to Wyoming in 1982. She took MBA-level classes at the University of Wyoming and held jobs at Blue Cross Blue Shield and Unicover. Colorado then beckoned with jobs at Current, Artistic Greetings and Experian, and Deb then joined Wiland seven years ago.

Deb likes things hot. She’s a devotee of hot yoga, and for vacation gathers with her close-knit family in the sweltering heat of Oklahoma in July. Family is paramount to Deb, who is a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. Deb’s takeaway from yoga is remaining flexible so as to ease into difficult poses. Those same attributes also serve in her life and in her job, which she describes as the perfect blend of analytics and customer service. As an advocate for her Wiland clients, Deb loves it when she can say, “Why yes, we can do that!”

Becky has the gift of understanding large, bulky objects…like the U.S. Postal Service, which awarded her their highest honor: the Partnership for Progress Award. How does such a thing happen? It’s been pretty much a straight path for Becky as a near-native of Boulder. She arrived at age 2 and later graduated from the University of Colorado, then learned publishing by working in subscription fulfillment services and became skilled in handling direct mail.

She has tackled a variety of management positions, mostly overseeing large production operations involving hundreds of employees. This experience led her to become an advocate for improving processes, recognition, and rewards. Her passion for great customer service led her to Wiland, where Becky gets to combine her direct marketing proficiency and professionalism with client service.

She applies that passion not just to large, bulky objects but also to small, slinky ones: As an avid organic gardener, Becky believes the lowly earthworm can save the world! She’s also an animal lover to the core. She and her husband are active with Colorado Horse Rescue. They’ve adopted three horses, providing them retirement on their 10-acre pasture along with three rescue dogs plus a flock of geese, ducks and chickens.

So whether it’s working on his golf swing, keeping baseball stats, scoping a top-notch database or building highly predictive response models, he believes getting the fundamentals right is critical.

In over two decades, Scott has executed merge-purge jobs for publishers, developed databases and reporting packages for multichannel retailers, deployed email campaigns, and pored over the vast data and details that make models hum. Scott came to Wiland in 2012 after being at Abacus Direct, EDS, MessageMedia and Neodata. When not exploiting data and statistics for clients, Scott spends time with his family, skiing, and playing golf or baseball. The craft beers come after all that.

Gregg comes by his direct marketing talents naturally. His grandfather was a postal carrier, and his father was a circulation director.  “My dad had one of those drawing tables, where I would watch him designing his own business reply cards. Cut and paste was real back then.  We used keypunch cards to make Christmas decorations.” After graduating from Colorado State University with an economics degree, he spent many years in circulation, fulfillment and direct marketing – with a little bit of owning a pet store thrown in.

Gregg is an avid fly fisherman, spending many weekends camping in the wonderful western outdoors. His two children have moved out of the house, but he and his wife are not empty nesters – three dogs, two cats, two birds and two fish still live at home.

Can a medieval French literature major from Ohio State find happiness and fulfillment as a cooperative database expert living in Longmont, Colorado? If you’re Gayla, the answer is a resounding yes. Like many at Wiland, Gayla’s career is filled with twists and turns, starting with moving to California. A chance meeting there led her to Triplex Direct Marketing, where she learned the business from wonderful mentors during her eight-year tenure.

Gayla’s next stop was managing circulation for two mail order companies: Bullock & Jones and The Tzabaco Group. By 2002, having lived through the dot-com boom in the Bay Area, Gayla had realized her true love was on the vendor side, so she returned to Colorado and never looked back. After 10 years with Abacus, Gayla joined Wiland in 2012. She’s happy in the world of cooperative database marketing, where she loves helping her clients succeed using the full spectrum of digital and offline channel solutions that Wiland offers.

As Gayla and her husband restored their ranch house, she discovered a love of mid-century architecture and gardening, plus a bit of koi-keeping tossed in for good measure. Gayla, an avid knitter, dabbles in knitwear design, giving her a true yin-and-yang existence: analyst by day, creator by night. Although she loves living in Longmont, Gayla remains a rabid Ohio State football fan.

Deven spent the first 20 years of her career in Hospitality and Tourism. She started by traveling the world to run successful meetings and events for Fortune 500 clientele. Deven then put that travel and event expertise to use in marketing Denver as a major convention and tourism destination at Visit Denver. Deven then moved into the five-star hotel industry, first serving her own accounts and later, joining the Executive Team and managing Sales & Catering. Deven has carried her extensive client services experience into Direct Marketing at Wiland, joining the company in 2013.

Originally from the Upper Midwest, Deven doesn’t take the sunshine and mountains for granted. She spends her free time outside, exploring all that Colorado has to offer with her husband and three daughters. Two teenagers and a toddler always keep things interesting!

April came to Wiland in 2007, where she advanced to outside sales. In 2012, when cancer struck, April’s family and Wiland colleagues lovingly helped her through the tough times. Today, as a survivor, she says, “Wiland is like a family to me. I have a completely different perspective on life these days and always look at the positive in everything I do.”

When not at work or checkups, the avid motorcyclist (who started riding long before it was cool for chicks to ride) hits the road year-round in the mountains, plains, and everywhere in between. She loves hanging out with her beloved dog, Lucky, noting that rescue is a two-way street.

Dave is passionate about learning and exploring, both at work and in his personal life. He loves to challenge his own ideas and notions, always seeking to improve. These traits, coupled with his love of facts and statistics, drew him to direct marketing some 20 years ago; and these virtues are brought to his role at Wiland, where he oversees product development and marketing for the many vertical markets that Wiland serves.

Before joining the company, Dave spent nearly a decade in senior marketing positions at multi-brand catalog retail companies including Astral Direct and Concepts Direct. He also has significant service-side experience, having worked with major direct-marketing clients at EDS, the Polk Company and Prime Response.

Dave graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he received his MBA and, more importantly, met his wife. Having lived in Springfield, Missouri for a number of years near the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Dave and his family have returned to Colorado where the much larger Rocky Mountains form the iconic western skyline. When not developing new marketing solutions for our clients, Dave enjoys watching his teenage son and daughter play competitive soccer, traveling to lands near and far, and, of course, exploring.
