Dan is that rare breed of cat who knows how to listen to others. In a world of talkers, Dan stands out. Charles began his career in the nonprofit sector over 30 years ago. From the high-energy first days of three start-ups to senior positions at some of the industry’s most innovative and respected companies, he has worked with and for some the very best organizations helping to solve the world’s most critical challenges. His leadership roles within the nonprofit sector have included chairing committees of the Direct Marketing Association, both regionally and nationally, along with the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
His skills and expertise have been honed at some of our industry’s leading data providers: TransAmerica Marketing, Epsilon, Acxiom, and Frontline Data. This experience gives him a unique perspective when helping Wiland clients with our highly successful fundraising and marketing solutions.
Michael “Mick” Benvenuto

Throughout his career, Mick has succeeded time and again in helping nonprofit organizations find that delicate balance for which we all strive: more donors and more dollars. His skills were honed as a member and leader of Advancement teams at Universities across the country, including Penn State, Temple and Cal State. Quality, trustworthy relationship development has been fundamental in fundraising since the beginning, and he’d tell you it’s more important these days than ever in building a strong donor pipeline.
With over 10 years in nonprofit fundraising, Mick was responsible for the research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of acquisition, reactivation and retention prospects across all giving channels. During that time he played a direct role in garnering tens of thousands of donors and raising millions of dollars in support of nonprofit causes. From his office north of LA, this Philadelphia native turned California transplant now serves as Wiland’s Vice President for New Business Development everywhere west of the Mississippi.
He’s experienced first-hand some of the many hurdles nonprofits encounter, and so works with each prospective Client to determine how their program can reach new levels of philanthropic success with the help of Wiland’s advanced analytics and knowledge of the industry. As a student, the power of education was a guiding light of inspiration and a source of fulfillment. Although he majored in physical education at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, the cold realities of financial stability overrode Jesse’s dreams of becoming a coach. His first stop was Capital One right out of college—a stay that lasted 11 years. It began with taking inbound calls in a call center, working up the ladder, and eventually landing in management to run a call center of 85 associates and six managers. This led to moving through different departments, managing inbound correspondence and finally to leading a team that took escalated calls to the corporate office. Now, at Wiland, Jesse is helping clients in the nonprofit realm achieve desired results by leveraging our massive database and proprietary analytics.
Along the way, that love of sports and exercise never abated. As an outdoor enthusiast, golf, fishing, and just about anything else involving exercise is A-OK with Jesse. But the main attraction for him is the fact that, to excel, you must have a strong state of mind. Oh, and that coaching thing? Still going strong by coaching kids’ basketball and softball teams. A mere repositioning of the dream is all it takes!

Director, Digital Sales
Having summited 36 of the 54 mountains in Colorado that top 14,000 feet, it’s safe to say Aaron is one who strives to take it to the top. He’s taken it to the top in other ways, too. Since 2000, he’s been involved in Colorado politics. He worked at the state Capitol as an aide to six legislators, and he has lent his skills to numerous campaigns and two political organizations. He has been elected a delegate to the Republican State Assembly, County Assembly and Congressional Assembly multiple times. More notably, he served with U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave as program director and district director for five years.
He previously ran his own practice with Prudential and served as a retirement consultant with TIAA-CREF. In addition to mountain climbing, the native Coloradoan also loves to hike, bike, and spend quality time with his family. Aaron is on terra firma here at Wiland, noting that the work he’s involved with brings him a tremendous amount of satisfaction, as does the privilege of working alongside many great people and clients.

Senior Client Services Director
Darren Bourn is a master of integrating work-life experience, just as he has integrated working on both the client and vendor sides in his 18 years in direct marketing. He began as an account coordinator at Neodata Database Marketing Services in 1994, then progressed with increasing responsibility at Concepts Direct, Dell Computer and Experian, all of which led him to Wiland, joining the company in 2006.
In his life outside Wiland, Darren enjoys fly fishing, playing hockey, and camping with his family. He has discovered that some elements of those pursuits apply directly to his work here at Wiland—including the attention to detail of fly fishing, and the teamwork required in hockey and camping. In his role as Client Services Director, Darren leverages those qualities as he applies his technical expertise, business analysis skills, and in-depth knowledge of marketing automation/campaign management software platforms to serve our clients.
It’s Darren’s integration of work-life skills that proves the old adage that whole is greater than the sum of its parts. That’s the best way to describe the service know-how that Darren brings to his Wiland clients.

Roger has always loved working with numbers. He remembers the fourth grade math competitions with the chalkboard race to solve the problem. As a child, Roger would listen to the radio of his favorite Denver Bears or Denver Rockets broadcast, tracking such player stats as hits and shots made and then quickly calculating percentages like batting average, field goal and free throw percentages. Today, he methodically captures crazy stats on his golf scorecard to understand tendencies and focus on areas needing improvement.
In his professional life, numbers, data patterns, and the development of audience strategies to solve puzzling business challenges have defined Roger’s career and now his focus at Wiland.
For the past three decades, Roger has focused on data management, data analytics, email marketing, statistics and predictive modeling, insights, and marketing strategy. Over the past 12 years, he’s held senior leadership positions with direct response marketing agencies Merkle, Moore DM Group and Russ Reid Company, combining data-driven strategy with award-winning creative services to raise the funds necessary to help nonprofit organizations change the world.
Roger was born and raised in Colorado where upon graduating from CU-Boulder, he started his career with Wiland & Associates in 1982. He moved to the East Coast in 1983 and now lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and three daughters. In addition to providing “taxi service” for ballet, horseback riding, and team sports activities, Roger still enjoys an occasional round of golf, a movie date night, and following his favorite teams—the Denver Broncos and the Washington Nationals.

The old adage “the customer is king” isn’t rusty, dusty or musty to Rick. Nothing gets under his skin more than the failure to grasp that businesses exist only because of the customer. That’s just the way he thinks and works. His singular focus is delivering a level of service that helps clients succeed. He’s passionate about the customer experience.
Rick started out at Wiland, then cycled successfully through Neodata, Polk, Experian and Return Path, only to take a “return path” of his own to Wiland to help launch the company’s nonprofit solutions. From financial services to fundraising, catalogs to customer relationship management, Rick’s industry experience is as wide-ranging as the Rocky Mountains he loves. Besides time in the mountains, the native Coloradan enjoys golf, biking, dabbling in music and art, and time with family, including his big ol’ chocolate Lab named—what else?—Rocky.

John is a 20-year veteran of the direct mail and nonprofit industries. He earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing and English from St. Thomas University, where he also ran track and played soccer.
John started his career as an account executive at Novus. In that role, John represented clients such as Mason Shoe Company and NordicTrack. In 1996, he moved to ParadyszMatera, where he started as an account director.
Over the next 14 years, John worked his way up to senior vice president and helped build the company’s nonprofit division into its largest producer of revenue. Along the way, he brought in major new nonprofit clients such as the Salvation Army and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, thanks in large part to his integration of modeling and analytics into client strategic services. In 2010, John became chief strategy officer for Paradysz + PM Digital, a role in which he oversaw analytics, business development, digital strategy, and client program management.
John, a Minnesota native, has two daughters and a son with his wife, whom he describes as “my rock and my running partner.” His daughters share his love of soccer, and he lives vicariously through his son’s electric guitar prowess. In his free time, John coaches youth soccer and volunteers as a mentor to young players. He also loves to run and spend time camping when the Minnesota weather permits it.

Imagine the feeling of going to work every day knowing that what you do makes a difference in thousands of lives. Meet Olivia. From a degree in advertising and marketing to years of experience at top agencies, Olivia’s nonprofit know-how stems from working with the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, the March of Dimes, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation to name a few. Savvy about every sort of media for every sort of nonprofit client, she anticipates client needs, then makes smart recommendations to boost acquisition and renewal programs.
Besides gaining terrific agency experience, Olivia taught nonprofit marketing at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a frequent speaker at industry and client trade conferences. Olivia, who is a Certified Direct Marketer, puts all that to work for her Wiland clients. She’s happy to be back in her home state of Colorado to hike the Rocky Mountains, garden, quilt, and explore her genealogy, along with occasional European jaunts to visit family and keep her German language skills current.

Kaitlyn is a fifth generation Coloradan, and her local roots run as deep as her conviction for doing good. Prior to working for Wiland, Kaitlyn spent eight years with the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, learning the fundamentals of how nonprofits operate. It was there that she first observed that data, properly interpreted, can yield superior results. She has been building on that foundation since 2013 when she joined Wiland.
In that time, Kaitlyn has contributed to the company’s tremendous growth in serving nonprofits through innovative digital and offline solutions. Exceptional customer service has been a theme for the entirety of Cheryl’s diverse professional career. As a Client Services Director on the Wiland team, Cheryl strives to bring an unparalleled level of service and care to her nonprofit industry clients as they work to make a difference through their many causes.
Prior to joining Wiland originally as a Client Services Coordinator in 2016, Cheryl worked in client-facing and customer service roles with companies including Front Range Labs and S.A. Technologies. In her new role, Cheryl specializes in working with clients to learn and understand their unique needs to facilitate the best possible solutions to help them achieve their goals and maintain continued success.
Outside of work, Cheryl enjoys quilting and taking road trips and vacations with her family, especially if that trip’s destination is a beach.

Lesa’s drive to produce excellent results and optimal performance for her clients has been prevalent throughout her over 30 years of experience in the direct mail business. In her role as Client Services Director at Wiland, Lesa utilizes her passion for using her breadth of experience and knowledge to help nonprofit clients exceed their goals and make an impactful difference through their causes.
With experience on both the service bureau and agency sides of direct mail, Lesa truly understands the importance of providing clients with the best solutions and most responsive names to fuel fundraising success. Lesa’s career includes working for one of the first iterations of the Wiland companies in the 1980s and for over 20 years with Steve Cram & Associates and Russ Reid Company, serving as Director of Data Management and overseeing all aspects of database management and merge processing for over fifty nonprofit clients.

Committed to working with political organizations to increase their success through intelligence-driven marketing solutions, Jonathan brings his instinctive problem-solving skills and a drive to build lasting, trusting client relationships to all of his interactions.
After graduating with a degree in biochemistry from Bob Jones University, Jonathan received his M.B.A. from Clemson University, focusing on gaining a deep understanding of business practices and how to strategically overcome business challenges. In his role with Wiland, Jonathan looks to translate his scientific background into an analytical approach to help his clients find the best solutions possible for more efficient, more effective marketing to drive the success of their organizations.

Sheila works closely with nonprofit clients to help them develop and deploy targeted marketing campaigns. Sheila joined Wiland in 2015 and is excited to work with talented colleagues who have high work ethics and are passionate about client success.
Sheila started at Neodata in 1990 and was employed there for almost 16 years. Over half of that time was spent as a Client Service Account Manager working directly with publishing clients. Most recently, Sheila worked as Circulation Manager and then Fulfillment Manager and Digital Marketing Manager at Interweave/F+W.
Born and raised in Colorado, Sheila has always been the inquisitive one in her family; she loves learning how things work. Sheila is a diehard Broncos fan, loves coffee, penguins, chocolate, country music, her husband, her kids, her dogs and her church (not necessarily in that order).

Jennifer believes in building strong relationships with clients and doing what is best for them. She prides herself on understanding the customer, whether that is a direct client or the end user, and that has made her successful in every role. After starting her direct marketing career at Abacus, Jennifer worked outside the co-op world for several years, doing loyalty, email and database marketing.
Jennifer is a Colorado native and mom to two little boys who keep her on her toes. She loves to have fun, laugh, and cook for friends and family. On the weekends, you will often find her on the soccer field, cheering on her sons at their soccer games or planning her next family vacation.

Terri began her career providing a cheery voice on the telephone while assisting magazine subscribers with address changes and missing copies. But the upbeat Midwesterner leveraged this experience and her drive to help people to work her way up the ranks of client services to the managerial level, and she now brings that same cheery voice and her tremendous commitment to customer service to her role as Client Services Director with Wiland.
Working with Wiland’s nonprofit industry team in Washington, D.C., Terri relishes in fulfilling the needs of her many nonprofit clients and in the relationships she’s built with them. With a wealth of experience working directly with publishers and in direct mail specifically with Neodata, Terri strives to understand the needs of her clients so she can offer them the best possible solutions to their challenges, with the ultimate goal of surpassing their expectations.
When she’s not at work, Terri can be seen handing out T-shirts at local charity races, serving as an usher at the theater, or putting fresh paint on a Habitat for Humanity house—that is when she’s not cooking, traveling, or cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs.

Drawing from her extensive experience working with clients across industries, including nonprofit, publishing, catalog, and education, Lisa looks to continue her reputable history of consistently exceeding expectations in client sales and revenue targets and in fulfilling company objectives here at Wiland.
After graduating from Metropolitan State University, Lisa worked as the database administrator for Denver-based nonprofit Laradon. Lisa quickly realized the effects that big data can have in helping companies, schools, and organizations leverage their stories and generate revenue. While holding highly impactful positions at companies including Quality Education Data, Abacus, and Epsilon, Lisa established herself as a leader in translating big data into market awareness, customer growth, and revenue opportunities for clients. Seemingly endless amounts of energy and creativity drive Bart to live “All In” with every aspect of his life. Being “All In” means more than “risking it all”; for Bart, it means being engaged and intentional. This plays out through honesty and communication with people, analysis and storytelling with data, and constant innovation with processes. Bart lives to find a better way, in his own life and in the world around him.
With roots in the Midwest, Bart attended the University of Michigan in order to march with the 225 members of Michigan’s Marching Band. After college, passion guided Bart’s career into the nonprofit sector, where he led teams around the world for more than a decade. Returning to the US, he landed in Colorado and began his co-op career, becoming a Certified Direct Marketer. Bart automated data systems and visualized metrics with no lack of opportunity to foster better ways. In his current role at Wiland, Bart is excited to partner with his nonprofit clients and help them find better data and marketing solutions so that they are able to tell their story to the largest audience available.
Married for 17 years with two kids, Bart considers his family the most important aspect of life. He enjoys dating his wife, Jenni, by following their spontaneous wanderlust through the foodie culture. As a dad, he has volunteered as an official for his daughter’s USA Swimming meets and coached his son’s soccer exploits. Outside of his home, Bart has served on the ground with an NGO in Afghanistan, volunteered as a photographer for Habitat for Humanity, and currently guides fathers as they engage their sons/daughters on expeditions with Restoration Project.

In a delightfully understated way, Angela talks about being married to an amazing man (they have five grown children), working full time, and somehow not having a lot of spare time. What would be surprising is if she were to have any.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Angela can lay claim to having two “grandpa pastors” in that both her parents were “PKs” (pastor’s kids), so she and her three younger brothers were brought up in a sometimes strict but always loving household. Angela grew up in Kansas and Missouri, moving often thanks to her dad’s job with JCPenney. The family landed in Colorado during her senior year in high school, and she spent the next 27 years there raising her own family. She and her husband now reside in beautiful Alexandria, VA.
Angela has been in the direct mail and publishing industry for 15 years and loves being part of the Wiland team. She especially appreciates being with a company that places employees and clients at the top and always operates with integrity. Angela and her husband love to vacation in Florida, choosing a different spot to visit each year and planning for retirement, which, fortunately for her clients, is a very long way down the road.

It all started with a mouse. Julie’s belief in exceptional customer service is rooted in the Walt Disney College Program and their leading approach to service excellence. You will always find her polished, professional, and still doing the Disney point.
Julie moved from Walt to Washington in 2000, when she decided to apply her skills in politics. She started at the Republican National Committee and held a variety of positions from research analyst to political coordinator. Julie later served as a political appointee at the US Department of Commerce, improving services for trade specialists and US companies focused on maximizing their export potential. From there, she spent more than seven years with FLS Connect as an Account Executive responsible for developing and executing voter contact programs. Just prior to Wiland, she was Director of Special Projects with Aegis Strategic, where she managed the boards and commissions program and voter contact services, among other responsibilities.
Julie was born and raised in St. Peters, MO and earned her Bachelor’s from Northwest Missouri State University. She enjoys cooking, trying the latest new restaurant, spoiling her niece and nephew, football, and way too much HGTV. Julie resides in Alexandria, VA.

Dave is passionate about learning and exploring, both at work and in his personal life. He loves to challenge his own ideas and notions, always seeking to improve. These traits, coupled with his love of facts and statistics, drew him to direct marketing some 20 years ago; and these virtues are brought to his role at Wiland, where he oversees product development and marketing for the many vertical markets that Wiland serves.
Before joining the company, Dave spent nearly a decade in senior marketing positions at multi-brand catalog retail companies including Astral Direct and Concepts Direct. He also has significant service-side experience, having worked with major direct-marketing clients at EDS, the Polk Company and Prime Response.
Dave graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he received his MBA and, more importantly, met his wife. Having lived in Springfield, Missouri for a number of years near the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Dave and his family have returned to Colorado where the much larger Rocky Mountains form the iconic western skyline. When not developing new marketing solutions for our clients, Dave enjoys watching his teenage son and daughter play competitive soccer, traveling to lands near and far, and, of course, exploring.

SVP, Digital Product Manager
Immersed in the exciting personal computer revolution of the 80s, Will cut his teeth on desktop publishing and computer graphic arts. After earning a bachelor’s degree in education and physics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from North Carolina State University with an emphasis on product innovation and marketing, he developed online storefronts and other early web technology.
He then helped other innovative companies turn ideas into viable marketing tools. Recently, his focus has been on the appropriate, secure use of consumer data for effective marketing; optimization tools for creative, audience and media; cutting-edge technical developments in digital marketing; and the evolution of mobile, local, video and other rapidly emerging digital channels.
Will says his true work and passion is at home, where he helps care for, and learns from, six amazing children. He teaches safety and leadership skills to Boy Scouts and to adult Scout advisers. An accomplished and award-winning Toastmaster, Will stands ready to address any gathering. As our go-to guy on digital, Will expands Wiland’s bandwidth by translating geeky concepts into simple explanations and thorny technical challenges into elegant product solutions.

Throughout his career, Wells’ core mission has been to help companies thrive by identifying their challenges and building solutions that fuel success. He brings this same results-oriented outlook to his role as Vice President of Product Management at Wiland.
After graduating from Amherst College in his native New England, Wells began his over 20-year marketing career at direct marketing powerhouses The Danbury Mint and Time Life. More recently, he’s helped companies like The Discovery Channel, Time, Inc., and EBSCO succeed by leveraging data and digital platforms to engage audiences and by leading multi-channel integration initiatives. As part of the Wiland team, Wells enjoys having daily opportunities to use his multifaceted experience to support clients and colleagues alike.
As a recent Colorado transplant, Wells’ top hobby has been gaping awestruck at the Rocky Mountain vistas with his wife and two sons. He also enjoys jogging with his dogs, cheering on and coaching his lacrosse-obsessed sons, and relishing the unfolding of each day with family and friends.

Lia’s Colorado roots run very deep. Her great-grandfather settled a mining town south of Boulder around the turn of the 19th century, and her family has been here ever since. After two years at Walla Walla College in Washington state, she headed back to the University of Northern Colorado, where she earned her B.A. in psychology, and she’s been in Colorado ever since.
Lia spent nearly six years in marketing, sales and event planning at the Fort Collins Country Club. Here at Wiland, she manages all aspects of our corporate identity and brand, along with trade show attendance, sponsorships, marketing messaging and strategy, and web content. She flies all over the country for Wiland, but when she’s not doing the traveling she loves, relaxing at her country home at the base of the foothills. She and her husband, Zack, have property with a small flock of chickens, sheep, a couple dogs, and a huge garden. Lia enjoys fishing, boating, hiking and camping, and spending time with family.
