New Data Privacy Laws: What Marketers Must Know to Prepare Now
The 2023 data privacy stage is set, with new state laws on the books and more to come. So how can marketers reach their ideal audiences while staying in compliance with the new and upcoming data privacy laws?
2023 opened with two major new state-level data privacy laws coming into effect in California and Virginia. Three more state data privacy laws will come into force later in the year in Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah. Meanwhile, there is still not a timeline as to when comprehensive federal legislation will be produced to bring consistency to this growing patchwork of state data privacy laws.
This evolving data privacy landscape has made it increasingly difficult for data-driven marketers to reach their audiences with relevant advertising and stay compliant with these new laws. Marketers are facing what often feels like a moving data privacy target. That’s why we assembled a panel of experts in a recent webinar to provide insights into how marketers can be better equipped to address the new data privacy legislation—all while continuing to advertise to their ideal consumers.
You can view the webinar, “New Data Privacy Laws: What Marketers Must Know to Prepare,” to hear Wiland’s Bryn Weaver (Chief Legal Officer and Chief Data Ethics Officer) and Dave Sharpe (Division Vice President) speak with Mark Micali, VP of Government Affairs at The Nonprofit Alliance.
